About Word finder
What this is
A finder for English words. You give it the letters you have, a pattern such as C?T, or the colours a five-letter guessing game showed you, and it lists every word in its word list that fits — grouped by length and sorted by points. There are also ready-made lists for the searches people make most, such as five-letter words with A and E or words that start with Q.
Where the words come from
The word list is ENABLE, which its compilers placed in the public domain. A short blocklist removes slurs and explicit words from every list and every search result. ENABLE is not the official dictionary of any game, so check unusual words against the dictionary your game uses. The sources page has the details.
What it does not do
It does not give definitions, does not know which words are common, and does not know any game's answer for the day. Points use this site's own letter values, not any game's scoring.
Trademarks
Scrabble is a trademark of Hasbro (in the US and Canada) and Mattel (elsewhere); Words With Friends is a trademark of Zynga; Wordle is a trademark of The New York Times Company. These names are used only to describe the kind of game the tools help with. Word finder is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by any of these companies.
Corrections
If a word is missing, shown wrongly, or should be on the blocklist, say which word and where you saw it.
