What is stored when you play

While a game runs, the server keeps a record of that game: its mode, the order of questions, how many you have answered and your score. If you submit a score, the nickname you typed, the score, the mode and the time are added to a public leaderboard. Nicknames are shown to everyone, so do not use your real name or anything personal.

Your address

To limit automated play, the server turns your IP address into a short code with a one-way hash and keeps that code with the game record. The address itself is not stored, and the code cannot be turned back into it. Game records are not used for advertising or profiling.

Kept on your device

Your best scores, the last mode you used and your last nickname are saved in your browser (local storage) so the page can show them again. Clearing site data removes them. Nothing there is sent anywhere except the nickname you choose to submit.

Advertising

This site shows advertising supplied by Google. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites, and you can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings. No advertising is placed inside the game itself.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4. It sets its own cookies and sends a truncated IP address, the pages you view and your device type to Google so we can see how the site is used. Under the GDPR the basis is our legitimate interest in understanding usage; under the CCPA we do not sell personal information. You can block the cookies in your browser or use Google’s opt-out add-on.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the CCPA you can ask for a nickname and score to be removed from the leaderboard. Because scores are not tied to an account, include the nickname and the approximate time of the score.
