How the board works
Each nickname shows its best score. If two nicknames tie, the one that reached the score first ranks higher. The daily board covers the current UTC day and starts empty at midnight UTC; the all-time board keeps every score. Scores come from games the server ran, never from the browser.
Two boards, two kinds of score
In sudden death the score is your longest run without a wrong answer, so a high score means a long streak through flags that get harder as you go. In the 60-second blitz the score is how many you got right before the clock ran out, and wrong answers do not end the game, so speed and breadth both count. The two modes are ranked separately because the numbers mean different things.
Climbing the board
The first five flags of a game have easy wrong answers. After that the wrong answers share colours or a continent with the right one, so the flags worth learning are the look-alikes: red-and-white pairs, tricolours that differ by stripe order, and flags with a similar emblem. Keys 1 to 4 answer faster than tapping.
Fair play
Answers faster than a person can read are refused, and a game that is left open is ended by the server. Nicknames are public and checked for offensive words. If something on the board looks wrong, the contact on the about page is the way to say so.
